Six in the City

Six-Word Memoires, a short-form storytelling project from Columbus resident Larry Smith, brings Six in the City to this year’s festival. At arts festivals, inside classrooms and at public spaces, the project challenges us to share what this city means in exactly six words.

Artist Wrestling League

Behold the chaos that is the AWL. Organized by an A-list of Franklinton superstars, this head-to-head battle of art mayhem is a crazy crowd pleaser. Stop by to see great costumes, bad accents, and total hilarity as these artists get down and dirty creating crowd sourced paintings, Royal Rumble style.

Iron Pixel

Iron Pixel will feature the final round of designers, battling for the champion title. Competitors are given a design challenge, with both designer's screens projected you can see them working in real time. During their battle, DJs will provide live music for the challengers to compete to. Design challenges are designed ahead of time, but provided to the designers at the start of the round. Each battle is different. Who will be the last standing at the end of the challenges? Come find out.

Columbus Invitational Arts Competition

In an intense battle of creative know-how that one must be asked to participate in, The Columbus Invitational Arts Competition will have visitors on the edge of their seats!

Live Graffiti Painting

Graffiti art goes hand in hand with hip-hop culture, and this year we've combined the two for a big impact in our Gritty City zone. Watch breakdancers, MCs, and DJs get down while artists who specialize with the spraycan collaborate and compete on subway cars and large scale mural walls.

Skateboarders

Watch the PlayFactory crew as they take over the streets of Gritty City. They’ll be launching off of kicker ramps and shredding through obstacles on State Street.

 

Green Thumb Workshops

Stop by the Strongwater zone to flex your green thumb and enjoy one of our gardening workshops. Planthropy will be providing four succulent workshops on Saturday and Sunday from 1:30- 3:05pm. Landscape designer, Michael Creath, will be hosting two vertical garden workshops, Saturday and Sunday from 3:15-4:15pm. Participation fees may apply.

Tron Bike Ride

Get on your bike and ride! Equip your bike with LED lighting for a Tron themed ride you won’t forget. Your futuristic evening bike ride will be at a relaxed pace, and on a predetermined route. Fees may apply.

Ante Up BBoy Battle

Bboys and Bgirls from all over the country will be competing in the festival's first breakdancing battle, be hosted Bboy Vanilla Nice and DJ Bombeardo will be DJing the rounds. The battle will run throughout the day on Saturday in the Gritty City zone, beginning at 3pm.

Virtual Reality and Games

Stop by the Strongwater zone where GSW will be bringing 40+ hours of original virtual reality content to demo, along with 3-D painting that'll allow users to create virtual areas in real space. Multivarious Games will be hosting demos and other interactive pieces around their gaming platform.

Clay Tent

Studio artists from the Cultural Arts Center Ceramics Studio will have ongoing demos and a gallery of clay sculpture and pottery. Stop by to learn more about the clay art making process and get your hands in clay.
