All Day Design Competitions!

Try your hand at making a wallet out of duct-tape!  
Can you design an instrument from an old computer keyboard?  
How about race a toy car fabricated from broken kitchen appliances?

The Idea Foundry, Columbus's own volunteer-managed community workshop and DIY learning center, will be presenting demonstrations and videos of some of their recent projects, commissions, and events (including a video clip of their Power Tool Drag Race from this past June, filmed by Channel 10 Sports News).  They will also host interactive exhibits (come have your picture taken with the world's largest transistor!) and will be offering
once-an-hour design competitions throughout the day. Prizes will be awarded based on competition criteria as well as audience favorites.  Sign up for a tour of the workshop after the festival, add your name to our mailing list of hands-on workshops (want to learn to weld?), or volunteer to help grow our grass-roots arts, design, and fabrication community.
